XML Parser: open edit and validate (“the App”) is a local file processing tool designed to help users work with XML documents. Your privacy is paramount. This policy details how the app handles your data.
2. Information We Collect
No Data Collection: The App operates entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or analyze your XML file contents, personal information, usage patterns, or any other data.
Local Processing: All operations—including parsing, editing, validation, and file management—are performed locally. Your XML files never leave your device unless you explicitly use the "Share" feature to send them to another app of your choice.
3. Permissions Used
The app requests the following permissions for core functionality:
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – Used exclusively to download external XSD (XML Schema Definition) files from URLs you provide for validation purposes. The app does not initiate any other network communication.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (for older Android versions) – Allows the app to read XML files that you select from your device's storage.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (for older Android versions) – Allows the app to save edited XML files back to a location of your choice on your device.
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (for Android 13+) – A system-level permission that, in certain environments, may be required to access files in shared storage, including non-image files like XML. The app does not access your photo library.
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses open-source XML parsing and validation libraries (e.g., for XSD validation). These libraries process data entirely on-device and do not transmit information. Any network request made for an external XSD schema is a direct download to your device for immediate validation use.
5. Data Security
Your XML files are secure. They are processed in your device's memory and temporary app storage. No copies are sent to remote servers or third parties. File access is scoped strictly to the files you explicitly open through the app's file picker.
