- Files: All files you open, view, or convert are processed entirely on your device. Your documents are never uploaded to any server or cloud service.
- Recent Files List: The app maintains a list of recently opened files stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device.
- Preferences: Settings such as reading mode, font size, and PDF conversion preferences are stored locally on your device.
2. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services:
Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the app. AdMob may collect and use certain data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. This may include:
- Device identifiers (such as Advertising ID)
- IP address
- General location data (based on IP address)
- App usage data and interaction with ads
Google AdMob's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device's ad settings or visiting Google Ads Settings.
3. Data Storage
All app data, including recent files, bookmarks, and user preferences, is stored locally on your device. We do not operate any servers or databases that store your information. Converted files (PDF, TXT, DOCX) are saved to your device's internal app storage.
4. Permissions
WPS Converter requests the following permissions:
- Internet Access: Required for loading and displaying advertisements via Google AdMob.
- Network State: Used to check network connectivity for ad loading.
The app uses Android's Storage Access Framework to open files, which does not require storage permissions. You select files through the system file picker, granting temporary access only to the files you choose.
5. Children's Privacy
WPS Converter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The ads displayed in the app are served by Google AdMob according to their policies regarding child safety.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties, except as described in the Third-Party Services section above regarding Google AdMob's ad serving functionality.
7. Data Security
Since all document processing occurs locally on your device and we do not collect or transmit personal data, your files and information remain under your control. We recommend keeping your device's operating system and the app updated for the best security.
