1. Introduction

Viewer for Bin File ("the App") is a local binary file editor that operates entirely on your device. We are committed to your privacy—this application does not collect, transmit, or store your data.

2. Information We Collect

Zero Data Collection: The App does NOT collect, transmit, store, or analyze:

  • The contents of files you open or edit
  • Your file paths, names, or metadata
  • Your editing history or search patterns
  • Any personal information or device identifiers
  • Usage statistics or analytics
All processing occurs 100% locally on your device's memory and storage.

3. Permissions Used

The app requests the following permissions strictly for file operations:

  • INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE – These are optional future-use permissions that may be used for checking app updates. Currently, no network communication is initiated. No file data is transmitted.
  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below) – Allows the app to read binary files that you explicitly select via the system file picker.
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 10 and below) – Allows the app to save edited files back to your device's storage at a location you choose.

Note: On Android 11+, the app uses the Scoped Storage API and does not require broad storage permissions—you grant access only to specific files/folders you choose.

4. Third-Party Services

The app may use open-source libraries for checksum calculations and binary data processing. These libraries operate entirely on-device and do not communicate externally. No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks are included.

5. Data Security

Your binary files remain completely private. The app only accesses files you explicitly open through Android's standard file picker. Edited files are saved locally to locations you specify. At no point are your files or any derived data sent over the network or shared with any service.
