Smart Duplicate Photo Cleaner

📱 Smart Duplicate Photo Cleaner processes all photos and videos entirely on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store any of your personal photos or files on any server.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Smart Duplicate Photo Cleaner ("the App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our Android application.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:
- Your photos, videos, or any media files
- Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
- Your location data
- Your contacts or call logs
- Browsing history or app usage history
- Any file content, metadata, or EXIF data from your device
All scanning, analysis, and deletion operations are performed locally on your device and never leave it.
3. Permissions We Request
The App requests the following Android permissions to function correctly:
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO (Android 13+) or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below) — Required to scan your photo and video library for duplicates. No files are read for any purpose other than analysis on your device.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / DELETE_MEDIA — Required only when you explicitly confirm deletion of selected photos or videos. No files are deleted without your direct action.
- INTERNET — Used exclusively to load advertisements served by Google AdMob. No personal data or media is transmitted over the internet.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED / SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — Used only if you enable the optional weekly background scan feature. No data leaves the device during background scans.
- VIBRATE — Used for optional haptic feedback on user interactions.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device information to serve personalised or non-personalised ads, including but not limited to:
- Advertising ID (a resettable, anonymous identifier)
- IP address and approximate location (country/region level)
- Device type, operating system version, and language
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
This data is collected and processed by Google under their own privacy policy. We do not receive or have access to your personally identifiable information from AdMob. You can review Google's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can opt out of personalised advertising by adjusting your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
5. Local Data Storage
The App stores certain data locally on your device only using Android SharedPreferences and internal app storage. This includes:
- Your scan settings and preferences (similarity threshold, date filters, etc.)
- Scan history records (date, count of duplicates found, space saved)
- Lifetime statistics (total scans performed, total storage freed)
- Storage analytics from the most recent scan
None of this data is transmitted to us or any third party. It is stored only to improve your experience within the App and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to address it.
7. Data Security
Since no personal data or media is transmitted from your device, there is no risk of a data breach involving your photos or files through our App. Your media remains entirely within your device's secure storage at all times.
8. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party SDK:

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data from you, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete on our end. If you wish to remove all locally stored app data (preferences, scan history), you can do so at any time via: Android Settings → Apps → Smart Duplicate Photo Cleaner → Clear Data.
