Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
Screenshot Text Editor ("the App", "we", "our") is an Android application developed by an independent developer. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us at toolsappdang@gmail.com.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, access, or transmit:
- Photos or screenshots you load into the App
- Text content detected or edited within your images
- Your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information
- Location data
- Device contacts or files outside of images you explicitly select
All image processing — including on-device OCR text recognition — is performed locally on your device using Google ML Kit. No image data ever leaves your device for processing purposes.
3. Permissions We Request
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — to let you pick a screenshot from your gallery. The image is read locally and never uploaded.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / MediaStore access — to save the edited image back to your Gallery. The image is written directly to your device.
- Internet — required by the Google AdMob SDK (for ad-supported builds) and Google Play Billing (for in-app purchases). See Section 4 and 5 below.
4. Advertising (Free Version)
The free version of the App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain information to serve personalised or contextual ads, including:
- Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID)
- Approximate location (derived from IP address)
- Device information (model, OS version)
- App interaction data (ad views, clicks)
This data is collected and processed by Google under their own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy . You can opt out of personalised ads at any time via Android Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
Purchasing the Remove Ads in-app product permanently disables all advertisements within the App.
5. In-App Purchases
The App offers a one-time in-app purchase ("Remove Ads / Premium") processed exclusively through Google Play Billing. We do not handle or store any payment card details. All transaction data is managed by Google under their Google Play Terms of Service .
6. On-Device OCR (Text Recognition)
The App uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition to detect text inside images. ML Kit runs entirely on-device — no image or recognised text is sent to Google or any other server for processing.
7. Data Retention
Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Premium status (whether you have purchased "Remove Ads") is stored locally on your device in the App's private SharedPreferences storage and is managed by Google Play.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at toolsappdang@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.

The App integrates the following third-party SDKs which may collect data independently under their own privacy policies:

10. Security
Since the App processes all user data locally and does not transmit personal information to external servers, the attack surface for data breaches relating to your images and text is limited to your own device. We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using screen-lock protection.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
