This Privacy Policy describes how PPT to PDF Converter ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring transparency in how your data is handled.
1. Information We Collect
We are committed to minimizing data collection. The App processes your files entirely on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your presentation files or converted PDF documents on any external server.
1.1 Files and Documents
The App accesses PPT and PPTX files that you explicitly select for conversion. These files are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server. Converted PDF files are saved to your device's local storage.
1.2 App Usage Data
The App stores conversion history, user preferences (such as theme selection, default PDF settings, and folder organization), and conversion statistics locally on your device using SharedPreferences. This data is not shared with any third party.
1.3 Advertising Data
If you consent to advertising, our advertising partners may collect certain information as described in Section 4 of this policy.
2. Permissions
The App requests the following permissions:
- Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Required to access PPT/PPTX files you select for conversion. This permission is only used on Android 12 and below; newer versions use the Storage Access Framework which does not require this permission.
- Internet Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Required for displaying advertisements and loading the PDF preview feature.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Optional permission (Android 13+) to show conversion progress and completion notifications. You can deny this permission without affecting the App's core functionality.
3. Advertising
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob to support free access to the App. Before showing any ads, we request your consent through a consent dialog that complies with applicable privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA.
You have the following advertising choices:
- Personalized Ads: Ads tailored to your interests based on your device's advertising identifier and usage patterns.
- Non-Personalized Ads: Context-based ads that do not use personal data for targeting.
- No Ads: You may choose to decline all advertising. Core App functionality remains fully available regardless of your choice.
You can change your advertising preferences at any time by navigating to Settings > Privacy & Advertising within the App.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
4.1 Google AdMob
Google AdMob is used to serve advertisements. When personalized advertising is enabled, AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to deliver relevant ads. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy.
4.2 Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
We use Google's UMP SDK to manage user consent for advertising in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regulations. The UMP SDK may collect consent status information. For more details, see Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
All locally stored data (conversion history, preferences, statistics) remains on your device until you clear it through the App's settings, clear the App's data through your device settings, or uninstall the App. We do not retain any of your data on external servers.
6. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously. Since all file processing occurs locally on your device, your documents are never exposed to network transmission risks. Advertising consent preferences are stored securely in the App's private SharedPreferences storage, which is sandboxed by the Android operating system.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App's advertising consent mechanism is configured to not tag users as under the age of consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- The right to access information about what data is collected.
- The right to request deletion of your data.
- The right to opt out of personalized advertising.
- The right to withdraw consent at any time.
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
You can exercise most of these rights directly within the App through Settings > Privacy & Advertising. To delete all App data, you can clear the App's storage through your device's Settings > Apps > PPT to PDF > Storage > Clear Data.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
