Welcome to M4B to MP3 Converter ("the App"), developed and operated by ToolsAppDang ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our Android application. By installing or using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We value your privacy. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data directly. The App processes audio files entirely on your device. However, the third-party SDKs integrated into the App may collect limited data as described below.
2. Third-Party Services
Google AdMob
The free version of the App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use the following data to serve personalised ads:
- Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / GAID)
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device information (model, OS version, language)
- App usage and interaction data
AdMob's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of personalised ads via Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation on your Android device.
Google Play Billing
Purchasing the "Remove Ads" premium upgrade is handled entirely by the Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Google's payment privacy policy applies: Google Payments Privacy Notice.
FFmpegKit
Audio conversion is performed locally using FFmpegKit. No audio files, metadata, or conversion data are transmitted to any remote server. All processing happens on your device.
3. File Access & Storage
The App requests permission to access files on your device solely to read source audio files you select and to write converted output files to your chosen destination folder. We do not upload, copy, or retain your audio files or any derived data.
4. Permissions Used
- READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – to open the audio files you select for conversion.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android ≤ 9) – to save converted files to external storage.
- INTERNET – required by AdMob to fetch and display advertisements (free version only).
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE – to run conversions reliably in the background via a notification.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED – to restore the home-screen widget after a device reboot.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) – to display conversion progress notifications.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at toolsappdang@gmail.com.
6. Data Retention
We do not maintain any servers or databases that store user data. Conversion history records are stored locally on your device inside the App's private storage sandbox and can be cleared at any time from within the App (History → Clear All History).
7. Security
Because all processing occurs on-device and no personal data is transmitted to our servers, the security of your information depends primarily on the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device and operating system up to date.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data held about you.
