Json Editor 100% local processor — the App is a professional JSON editing and development tool that operates primarily on your device. This Privacy Policy explains our commitment to your privacy and minimal data practices.
2. Information We Collect
Local Processing Only: The App processes JSON data entirely on your device. We do NOT collect, transmit, or store:
- The content of your JSON files or documents
- Your API responses, configuration data, or schemas
- File names, paths, or storage locations
- Generated code, JSONPath queries, or validation results
- Personal information or device identifiers
- Usage statistics or editing history
URL Import: When you use the "Import from URL" feature, the app makes a direct network request to the URL you provide to fetch JSON data. This data is processed locally and not stored or transmitted elsewhere. No logging of URLs or fetched content occurs.
3. Permissions Used
The app requires the following permissions for specific functionality:
- INTERNET – Used exclusively for the "Import from URL" feature to fetch JSON from web endpoints. No other network communication occurs.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below) – Allows reading JSON files that you explicitly select from your device storage.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 10 and below) – Allows saving edited JSON files back to your device storage at locations you choose.
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13+) – Required for accessing files in shared storage on newer Android versions; the app only accesses files you explicitly select, not your images.
Note: On Android 11+, the app uses Scoped Storage and the Storage Access Framework, requiring no broad storage permissions—you grant access only to specific files or folders.
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses several open-source libraries for JSON processing, schema validation, and code generation. These libraries operate entirely on-device and do not transmit any data:
- JSON parsing/validation libraries (e.g., Jackson, Gson)
- JSON Schema validator libraries
- JSONPath query processors
- CSV/YAML conversion libraries
No Analytics or Advertising: The app does NOT integrate with any analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking frameworks. No data is shared with third parties.
5. Data Security
Your JSON data remains completely secure:
- All file processing occurs in local device memory
- No JSON content is transmitted except when you explicitly use URL import (direct request to your specified URL)
- No cloud backups or external storage of your documents
- File access is strictly limited to files you explicitly select
- Imported URL data is not logged or retained after the session
6. Children's Privacy
This app is intended for general audiences and developers. It does not target children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
