1. Document Privacy (Local Processing)
Forge PDF is designed with a "Privacy-First" approach. Your documents are your business.
- On-Device Processing: All PDF manipulations (merge, split, edit, convert) are performed locally on your hardware. We do not upload your files to any servers.
- OCR Technology: Text recognition via OCR is handled on-device using Google ML Kit.
2. Permissions
The app requires the following permissions to function correctly:
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES: To access the PDFs and images you wish to edit.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To save your finished documents to your device.
3. Advertising
To support the continued development of Forge PDF, we display advertisements within the app. These ads are served by third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob).
- Advertising ID: These ad partners may use your device’s Advertising ID to show relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can reset or delete this ID in your Android system settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
- Personalized Ads: Depending on your location and settings, you may see personalized ads. You can opt-out of ad personalization in your device settings.
4. Third-Party Services
We may work with the following third-party providers:
- Google AdMob: For serving advertisements. View Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Services / Firebase: For basic crash reporting and app stability analytics to help us fix bugs.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect any non-personal data collected by the app. Because your documents remain on your device, their primary security is provided by your Android operating system.
