Welcome to Cover Letter Generator ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Android application.
By using the app, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the application.
Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our services:
- Profile information you provide: Name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn URL, skills, work experience summary, and other details you optionally enter in the Profile section. This data is stored locally on your device only.
- Generated content: Cover letters, ATS scores, and interview preparation notes created during your session. These are stored locally in the app's private database on your device.
- Usage data (anonymous): Crash reports and anonymous usage analytics collected by Google Firebase/AdMob to improve app stability and performance.
- Purchase information: If you purchase the "Remove Ads" upgrade, transaction data is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details.
AI-Powered Cover Letter Generation
Our app uses an AI language model API to generate cover letter content. When you tap "Generate", the following inputs are sent to the AI service provider:
- Job title and company name you enter
- Selected tone, language, and letter length preferences
- Optional profile fields (name, skills, experience) you choose to include
This data is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection and used solely to generate your cover letter. We do not retain this data on our servers after the response is returned. Please review the AI provider's privacy policy for details on their data handling practices.
Advertising
The free version of the app displays banner and interstitial advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized advertisements in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's advertising settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of interest-based ads), or by purchasing the "Remove Ads" upgrade within the app.
In-App Purchases
The app offers a one-time "Remove Ads" in-app purchase processed securely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card information. Purchase receipts and entitlements are managed entirely by Google.
Data Storage and Security
All user-generated content (saved letters, profile data) is stored in a private SQLite database on your device using Android's Room persistence library. This data is not accessible to other apps and is not synced to external servers.
When you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted from your device.
Children's Privacy
Our app is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately at toolsappdang@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information.
Third-Party Services
Our app integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob – Advertisement delivery
- Google Play Billing – In-app purchase processing
