Welcome to Broken Display Prank ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use our App.
By downloading or using Broken Display Prank, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
The App does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Your location data
- Photos, camera, or microphone data
- Contacts or call logs
- Device identifiers beyond what is required by advertising SDKs (see Section 4)
3. Permissions Used
The App requests the following Android permissions for its core features:
- SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Draw Over Other Apps) — Required to display the cracked-display visual overlay on top of other apps. No data is collected through this permission.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE — Required to keep the overlay active in the foreground with a persistent notification while the prank is running.
- BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE — Required only when you enable the optional "Volume Button Trigger" feature. This service listens for volume-button key events solely to trigger the prank; it does not read screen content, input data, or any other accessibility information.
- VIBRATE — Used for haptic feedback during the shatter animation.
Sensor access (accelerometer / linear acceleration) is used for the "Shake to Re-Shatter" feature. Sensor data is processed entirely on-device and is never stored or transmitted.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Broken Display Prank displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use certain non-personal device information (such as advertising ID, device type, and general location derived from IP address) to serve relevant ads. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not control the data AdMob collects. You can learn more and opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or reset your advertising ID.

5. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party SDK:
- Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) — for displaying banner, interstitial, and app open advertisements. See Google's data practices above.
No other third-party analytics, tracking, or data-collection SDKs are included in this App.
6. Children's Privacy
Broken Display Prank is a comedy/entertainment prank application intended for general audiences. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our App, please contact us at the email below so we can address it promptly.
7. Data Retention
Since the App does not collect personal data, there is no user data for us to retain or delete. App preferences (selected crack style, intensity, toggles) are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences and never transmitted to any server.
8. Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect the App from unauthorized access or misuse. Because we do not collect or store user data on external servers, the risk of a data breach involving your personal information is minimal.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
