FB2 Reader:Classic Ebook Pro
Last updated: February 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how FB2 Reader:Classic Ebook Pro ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information: FB2 Reader does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or account credentials.
Device Storage Access: The app requires access to your device storage solely to scan for and read FB2 ebook files. The app uses the READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission on Android 12 and below, and the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission on Android 11 and above, to locate ebook files across your device. We do not modify, delete, copy, or upload any of your files. All file access occurs locally on your device.
Reading Data: Reading preferences (font size, theme, bookmarks, reading progress, and statistics) are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server.
2. Advertising
FB2 Reader uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including banner ads, native ads, interstitial ads, and app open ads. Google AdMob may collect and use certain data to provide ads. This may include:
- Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
- IP address
- General location data (country/region level)
- App usage data related to ad interactions
Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads: Depending on your region and consent preferences, Google AdMob may serve personalized ads (based on your interests and browsing activity) or non-personalized ads. You can manage your ad preferences and opt out of personalized ads through your device settings: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.

3. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements
- Google Play Services — for app distribution and updates
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they collect and process data.
4. Data Storage and Security
All user data (bookmarks, reading progress, preferences, and statistics) is stored locally on your device using an internal database. This data is not transmitted, shared, or backed up to any external server.
If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted.
5. Children's Privacy
FB2 Reader is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app content is rated for Everyone. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
6. Permissions
The app requests the following permissions:
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below) — Required to find and read FB2 ebook files stored on your device.
- MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 11 and above) — Required to scan all folders on your device for FB2 ebook files, since the standard storage permission no longer provides broad file access on newer Android versions.
- INTERNET — Required for displaying advertisements via Google AdMob.
No files on your device are modified, deleted, or uploaded by this app.
7. Your Choices
- You can deny storage permission, but the app will not be able to find or display your ebooks.
- You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization.
- You can reset your Advertising ID through the same settings menu.
- You can uninstall the app at any time to remove all locally stored data.
